PV 2008 – Workshop on Photovoltaics 2008
In partnership with Research Corporation
Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico, Arizona, USA
October 28-31, 2008
The science and technology of photovoltaic conversion has moved forward slowly. It now sits at the heart of solar energy utilization and is receiving much attention and raising great expectations. The US DOE workshop on Basic Research Needs for Solar Energy Utilization (http://www.sc.doe.gov/bes/reports/files/SEU_rpt.pdf) proposes that a disruptive change in science and technology is required to unleash the full power of solar energy adoption in technological and economic terms. | |
 | The workshop aims to attract experts in all phases of photovoltaics to stimulate competitive collaborations and the synergism to reach that disruptive stage. The workshop will be held in the style of a Gordon Conference in the beautiful setting of the Southwest desert. Sessions will be held in the morning, late afternoon and after dinner. Oral presentations will be by invitation only. Contributed posters will be selected by the technical committee. |
While all aspects of photovoltaics will be considered, the emphasis will be placed on:
- Inorganic semiconductor PV
- Bandgap engineering
- Nanoparticle PV
- Hybrids and polymers
- Plasmonics
