
Billed as "America's longest running national solar conference", the 39th Annual American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Conference was held in Phoenix, AZ, May 12 - 22, 2010. The University of Arizona's Solar Energy Network (UA SEN) joined AzRISE in a booth that highlighted the University of Arizona's research programs and activities in solar energy.

AzRISE takes great pride in its Solar Car Team for their performance in the Shell EcoMarathon held in Houston, Texas on April 2010. The urban prototype car "Mallory" achieved 3,149 miles to the gallon.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives are key considerations in building and maintaining a prosperous economy. The focus of this seminar was on the importance of energy productivity and the many opportunities that could accelerate the nations historic growth and economic productivity.

Solar Fusion 2009, held August 28, 2009, at the University of Arizona. It featured a wide range of solar achievements at the University of Arizona. Highlights included the first public tours of the Solar Decathlon house on the eve of its departure for Washington, D.C. where it competed against 19 other finalists in the Solar Decathlon, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The SEED[pod] Solar House was one of only 20 finalists selected from around the globe to compete in the 2009 Solar Decathlon held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The competition was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
